Every Seed Starts in the Dark

Sketchpad with pencil drawn leaves and reflections about seeds - “Seed Sacrifice, Leaf Sunshine”

Before anything blooms, it begins unseen, just like this reflection.

Thirty days ago, my seed judgment was gently challenged by a wise woman I call my healer. She is a quiet grandmother figure, barely 4'11", whose wisdom fills the room.

In my drawing notebooks, I keep sketching acorns and leaves to honor the balance between seed and fruit. The drawing is still rough, but the practice opens a door. When I relax into the page, words find me.

“We celebrate the beauty of the leaves, but not the seed’s sacrifice.”

That line felt true until my healer asked another question. What if the seed is not lost at all? What if it fulfills its purpose by nourishing what comes next?

I realized I had been focused on what the seed loses, not what it gives. Every earlier version of me has been feeding something yet to bloom.

Your Turn?

Every seed starts in the dark, but it doesn’t stay there.
Maybe yours is a dream, a boundary, a project, or a little more rest. What’s ready to grow?
